The system works for the sake of the system

The system works for the sake of the system, not the people it serves!

Over the last thirty years, you will not be surprised to learn that it has become ever more apparent to me that we do not live in a democracy in the true sense of the word.

In Ireland today the state machinery behaves like an autocrat and in response to this our state’s political leadership displays a truly depressing level of complacency, ignoring the dysfunctional impact bureaucracy has on the lives of ordinary people.

The disparities between haves and have not, has become even more telling and the “one size fits all” policy further marginalises the most vulnerable people who do not fit in the boxes on the form.

Over the coming months, I will dissect the different sectors and discuss the impacts, consequences and the solutions.

Our system of governance is the worst of bad governance as it rewards people for bad behaviour, as we have seen with the banks, speculators and our politicians.

The system then micromanages the ordinary citizen; classic “shutting the stable door, after the horse has bolted.”

The system is manipulated to the benefit of a few at the expense of so many!
